Charlie Davenport
Charlie Davenport

President & Chief Operating Officer

Charlie Davenport is a seasoned veteran of the same-day delivery industry with over 40 years of owner/operator experience. His logistics journey began in 1983 when he joined Austin Delivery Service, where he served as co-owner and played a pivotal role in growing the business into a respected regional carrier. After selling the company to Eastway Delivery Service, Charlie remained on board to oversee the Austin division and ensure a smooth transition.

In 1994, Charlie participated in the formation of US Delivery, which would go on to become the largest same-day delivery company in the country at the time. His forward-thinking leadership and operational insight have guided companies through significant growth, acquisition, and strategic realignment.

Throughout his career, Charlie has led a wide range of transportation operations, including Intermodal, LTL, FTL, and Pool Distribution. His extensive work with Independent Contractors and deep understanding of the operational nuances of time-sensitive freight have positioned him as a trusted and highly effective leader in the logistics space.

As President and COO of Hot Shot Final Mile, Charlie’s strong leadership, decades of experience, and commitment to operational excellence serve as the backbone of the company. His steady hand and strategic vision continue to drive HSFM forward as a recognized leader in same-day and final-mile logistics.

Shelly Miller

Vice President

Shelly Miller is a dynamic and results-driven leader with over 20 years of experience in the logistics industry. Known for her strategic thinking, operational insight, and servant leadership, Shelly brings a rare combination of big-picture vision and hands-on execution to every challenge.

A graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in Management, Shelly began her career at USAA as a financial advisor and stockbroker, where she honed her skills in customer service and financial strategy.

In 2008, she founded Dependable Express, LLC, a full-service logistics company serving the San Antonio and Austin markets. Under her leadership, the company became a regional leader in expedited freight and final mile home delivery, earning a reputation for reliability, innovation, and customer-first solutions.

Shelly joined Tuya Technologies in 2017, where she held key roles including General Manager, Director of Customer Success, and Vice President. In these roles, she continued to demonstrate her strengths in team development, process improvement, and strategic execution.

Today, as Vice President of Hot Shot Final Mile, Shelly leads with a servant’s heart and a strategist’s mind. She combines data-driven decision-making with a deep understanding of customer needs, ensuring that every delivery reflects the excellence and care Hot Shot Final Mile is known for.

Taylor Meador

Sales and Marketing Manager

Taylor Meador is an accomplished leader in the logistics and transportation industry, known for her deep operational knowledge and customer-focused approach. With an extensive background spanning courier service, final mile delivery, home delivery, distribution, fulfillment, and warehousing, Taylor brings a wealth of firsthand experience to every client interaction.

Her career has been marked by successful partnerships with clients across a wide range of industries, each with unique logistical needs. Taylor’s ability to listen and deliver tailored solutions has earned her a reputation for precision, efficiency, and exceptional service.

As Sales and Marketing Manager at Hot Shot Final Mile, Taylor leads with strategy and heart. Her strength in business development and marketing makes her a key driver of the company’s growth. She’s committed to clear communication, personalized service, and logistics solutions that deliver real results.

Taylor is also an active member of the Express Carriers Association (ECA), where she continues to stay connected with industry trends and foster collaborative relationships across the logistics community.

Garth Wilkins

General Manager, Dallas-Fort Worth

With a dynamic background in operational leadership and corporate strategy, Garth Wilkins serves as the General Manager of Hot Shot Final Mile in Dallas-Fort Worth. A seasoned logistics executive, Garth brings over two decades of experience in expedited freight, strategic growth, and customer-centered solutions.

Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Garth began his logistics career in 2002 as a partner and Vice President at Meteor Couriers Inc., a Dallas-based logistics company known for its strong regional footprint and operational efficiency. His ability to lead with vision and deliver results quickly earned him recognition in the industry.

In 2018, Garth took on key leadership roles at TUYA Technologies including Vice President of Business Development and Director of Mergers & Acquisitions. His strategic mindset and ability to identify growth opportunities led to impactful developments across the organization. He continues to serve on TUYA’s board, where he helps shape long-term corporate strategy.

Due to Garth’s vast experience in the Texas market, he understands the state’s unique logistics landscape and the importance of tailored, regional solutions. At Hot Shot Final Mile, Garth is known for thinking outside the box and taking the time to deeply understand customer needs. His commitment to crafting efficient, scalable logistics solutions makes him a trusted partner to clients across industries.

Garth is also actively involved in WCA eCommerce, staying connected with the evolving demands of global logistics. Garth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Southern Methodist University.

John Gutierrez
John Gutierrez

General Manager, San Antonio

A proud San Antonio native, John Gutierrez is a seasoned logistics leader with over a decade of hands-on experience in freight management, courier operations, and last-mile delivery solutions. His career reflects a deep commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction across diverse logistics environments.

John began his journey in logistics in 2016 as an Operations Manager at Jaguar Logistics, where he quickly gained a reputation for his sharp operational insight and leadership in high-pressure environments. He later took on a regional leadership role with Dropoff, where he served as General Manager overseeing markets in San Antonio, Las Vegas, Corpus Christi, and McAllen through the end of 2020.

In April 2021, John joined Hot Shot Final Mile as General Manager of the San Antonio market. He brings specialized expertise in retail, medical, and courier logistics, as well as warehousing and cross-dock operations. John also plays a key role in maintaining proper training and compliance with TSA regulations. Whether optimizing warehouse workflows or fine-tuning last-mile routes, John thrives on solving complex logistical challenges and delivering cost-effective, reliable solutions for clients.

Known for his hands-on approach, John is passionate about the “art and science” of logistics, coordinating the intricate movement of goods with precision, speed, and care. His leadership continues to play a vital role in shaping Hot Shot Final Mile’s service excellence in one of Texas’ fastest-growing markets.

Joseph Perez

General Manager, Houston

A native of Houston, Texas, Joseph Perez is a rising star in the logistics industry, known for his strong leadership, tireless work ethic, and commitment to operational excellence. His journey began at Transtar, where he worked in the warehouse and quickly discovered a passion for warehousing operations and process improvement.

Joseph joined Hot Shot Final Mile in 2019, where his drive and attention to detail quickly set him apart. Through dedication and hands-on leadership, he rose to the role of Warehouse Manager and now serves as General Manager of our Houston office.

In his current role, Joseph oversees daily operations, leads a growing team, and ensures the highest levels of customer satisfaction. He is known for his problem-solving skills, team development, and ability to keep operations running smoothly under pressure. His leadership style is rooted in accountability, consistency, and setting the standard by example.

Joseph continues to bring energy, innovation, and excellence to the Houston market, playing a key role in shaping the future of Hot Shot Final Mile.
